Job Description

Reporting to our East Regional News Editor, you’ll deliver multiple local news bulletins for Heart and Smooth Radio stations across the East and provide on‑air and on‑line content for Global’s national brands such as LBC, LBC News, and Classic FM. You’ll bring creativity, a strong voice, excellent writing skills, and experience producing multiple news bulletins in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding quality local news and current affairs content with a phenomenal voice.
  • Ensure stories from our region are featured on LBC and LBC News.
  • Utilise social and multimedia tools to create a multi‑platform news experience.
  • Apply sound legal judgement and comply with Ofcom’s broadcast regulations.
  • Build relationships with key regional contacts.
  • Maintain flexibility to handle bulletin reading and reporting shifts as needed.

What You’ll Need
  • Work independently and with senior colleagues to deliver targeted news.
  • Possess a commanding on‑air presence and ability to report live to LBC/LBC News.
  • Experience presenting multiple news bulletins each hour.
  • Perform flexible hours with high standards.
  • Knowledge of key issues affecting East England residents.
  • Excellent understanding of media law and the OFCOM Broadcast Code.
