Position Overview:
Boeing Defence United Kingdom is seeking a highly capable and motivated Supplier Quality Specialist to join our team in Birmingham, UK. The role involves managing the quality aspects of the supply base for all military products in the UK. Travel to other Boeing suppliers across the UK will be required on a frequent basis.
IMPORTANT The applicant must live in or around the Birmingham, UK area.
Position Responsibilities- Management of a portfolio of suppliers including supplier oversight and surveillance.
- Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) review and acceptance.
- Supplier development and mentoring.
- Earlier Quality Involvement (EQI) and Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) implementation.
- Continuous improvement.
- Creating and presenting metrics and performance data.
- Product verification and in‑process inspections.
- Background in quality/inspection, able to understand and interpret 2D and 3D manufacturing drawings, production paperwork and manufacturing specifications.
- Experience inspecting composite, machined and fabricated parts and assemblies, and knowledge of the installation of electrical/electronic line replaceable units (LRU); experience on wire looms and fuel systems is an advantage.
- Experience reviewing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) to the AS9102 standard, articulating non‑compliance/conformities and progressing to a compliant resolution.
- Knowledge and experience of the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) Type Certificate process is an advantage; training will be provided.
- Good communication skills – verbal and written.
- Computer skills required for data entry into on‑line and off‑line systems.
This requisition is for a locally hired position in the United Kingdom. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not attempt to obtain immigration and labour sponsorship.
