Salary: £45k + package
Location: Birmingham
Regions: Birmingham, East Midlands, Midlands, West Midlands
Our client, a world-leading geotechnical contracting group, specializes in modern Geotechnics and Foundation Engineering, including bored and displacement piling, diaphragm walls, grouting, mini piling, anchors, ground improvements, and environmental engineering.
We offer a fantastic opportunity to join our High Speed 2 Joint Venture construction project based in Birmingham.
Key Tasks
Quality Management
- Support delivery teams in achieving project deliverables, providing quality assistance as needed;
- Utilize digital systems to monitor quality planning, production of quality deliverables, and management of defects & NCRs against targets;
- Attend pre-start meetings for significant projects;
- Provide quality-related training to enhance skills and drive quality performance;
- Conduct quality inspections to maintain standards and best practices;
- Collaborate with Quality Managers & wider Risk, Audit, and Quality functions;
- Develop and implement the Internal Audit Programme, including local and supplier audits and support external audits (e.g., DNV GL);
- Engage with JV partners to agree on management systems and governance structures;
- Maintain the Business Management System and project documentation reflecting latest requirements.
Business Improvement
- Drive improvements in Construction Excellence;
- Support the delivery of the Parent Company’s Innovation and 25% by 2025 goals, focusing on waste reduction and digitization;
- Implement additional improvements as directed by the Senior Leadership Team.
Personal Qualities and Experience
- Strong analytical skills; proficient in Excel and statistical software;
- Experience working with accreditation bodies and managing audits;
- Proven ability to lead business improvements and change initiatives;
- Ability to analyze facts, work to plans and budgets, and pay attention to detail;
- Excellent report writing and communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence;
- Team-oriented with initiative and resilience;
- Proficient in modern office systems and technology;
- Currently a CQI Practitioner/Member or working towards this status.
