Primary Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Produce design drawings, feasibility studies, layouts, and GA's for substations.
• Prepare technical specifications for transformers, switch gear, batteries, CTs, and associated plant.
• Review supplier and client designs for compliance with standards and regulations.
• Act as CDM Designer / Principal Designer, managing H&S risks.
• Support site activities and design changes.
• Ensure designs meet programme, quality, and commercial objectives.

• HNC in Electrical Engineering (minimum) with 5+ years' experience in HV / EHV substations (AIS & GIS).
• Experience in cable design, protection & control, load / rating calculations, and cost estimation.
• Knowledge of engineering standards, earthing, and electrical clearances.
• Strong understanding of CDM regulations and H&S requirements.
• Flexibility to travel to project sites.
