We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior AML Manager.

The HSBC UK AML team is responsible for providing SME stewardship on Anti‑Money‑Laundering, Anti‑Bribery & Corruption, Tax Evasion, Money Mules and Customer Monitoring.

As Senior AML Manager, you will be the AML SME and have a key role in providing expert AML stewardship to stakeholders and senior management to mitigate the risk of HSBC UK being used to further financial crime.

Responsibilities
  • Keep abreast of regulatory and legislative changes and industry events, performing read‑across activities and gap analysis to the Financial Crime Policy (“FC Policy”) to assess the impact for HBUK.
  • Assume primary responsibility for UK FC Country policy (UK FC Country Policy Owner) as well as coordinate all engagement with Group FC on annual and ad‑hoc GFCP Policy refresh. Lead on the drafting and approval process of the UK Financial Crime Policy. This includes ensuring any UK‑specific regulatory requirement or expectation, not covered by the Global FC Policy, is pragmatically included in the UK FC Policy.
  • Conduct the communication and training of the UK FC Policy to FC Steward teams. Deliver the annual UK FC Policy Attestation to confirm adherence and application of the Policy.
  • Support the embedding of the Group AML Policy and supporting guidance in line with UK regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
  • Provide strategic direction, reporting and guidance to HBUK Financial Crime Senior Management with respect to AML related risk events and control issues or weaknesses.
  • Foster strong relationships with the HBUK Financial Crime community, Group AML and LoBs.
  • Support the HBUK Head of AML in providing direction, guidance and advisory services to HBUK FC steward teams, LoBs and Functions.
  • Supervise, cascade and embed (where relevant) key external developments including supervisory/enforcement activity and best practice through engagement with HBUK FC and LoBs.
  • Check and challenge of entity‑wide management of AML risk via Risk and Control Assessments and accompanying risk‑management tools.
  • Coordinate ad‑hoc requests from the FCA, law enforcement or other external stakeholders – providing AML SME input.
  • Provide AML SME input into governance papers and annual reports such as EWRA and the MLRO report.
  • Identify where AML SME training may be required and arrange for training to take place, including preparing and delivering training material.
  • Timely production of high‑quality Management Information (MI) where required.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience of AML policy and regulations.
  • Strong policy drafting experience.
