Role Description

This is a full‑time on‑site role for a Group Finance Controller located in Birmingham. You will be responsible for ensuring the business is financially astute and managed well, running a team with a number of reporting divisions. Reporting into the Group CFO and Board.

Qualifications
  • Lead and develop the finance team
  • Own monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and board reporting
  • Oversee statutory accounts, audits, tax, VAT, and regulatory reporting
  • Maintain strong financial controls, processes, and risk management
  • Cashflow forecasting, working capital management, and treasury oversight
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and medium‑term financial planning
  • Partner with operational and commercial leaders on performance and growth
  • Assist with group structuring, intercompany accounting, and consolidation
  • Support systems improvement, automation, and data quality initiatives
Essential
  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA fully qualified
  • Proven experience in similar size or larger organisations
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP; IFRS a bonus)
  • Experience managing and developing a finance team
  • Solid understanding of cashflow, controls, and audit processes
  • High level of Excel and financial systems competence
Highly Desirable
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or other regulated sectors
  • Exposure to fast‑growth, PE‑backed, or entrepreneurial businesses
  • Group consolidation and intercompany accounting experience
  • Systems implementation or finance transformation exposure
