Get Recruited (UK) LTD invites applications for the Financial Controller – Manufacturing role based in Birmingham (Bordesley Green area), hybrid working available.

Up to £70,000 (potentially up to £75,000 for the right candidate) + bonus + benefits.

We are partnering with a highly successful manufacturing business in Birmingham that is modernising its finance function and investing in new systems. The company seeks an experienced Financial Controller to lead the day‑to‑day finance team, deliver management accounting, business partnering and systems improvement.

For a qualified or QBE finance professional with manufacturing/engineering experience who is ambitious to progress to Head of Finance, this role offers a clear career path.

• Report to the Finance Director and manage the finance department – leading a team of 5.
• Mentor and support a newly promoted Management Accountant.
• Deliver insightful management information analysis and offer finance business partner support to key operational departments.
• Lead cost of manufacturing, bills of materials and standardised product costing analysis.
• Own cash‑flow management, budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Oversee weekly and monthly payroll.
• Drive implementation and adoption of a new ERP system, modernising finance processes.
• Manage short‑term manual processes while delivering automation long‑term.
• Partner with operational and commercial leads to provide financial insight, challenge and support decision making.
• Be responsible for Year‑End, external audit and statutory submissions, in collaboration with the external practice.
• Review and refine the company's bonus scheme and reward model.
• Support the Finance Director with ad hoc analysis, projects and strategic initiatives.

• Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or Qualified by Experience (QBE).
• Strong manufacturing or engineering finance background, including cost of manufacturing, bills of material/BOMs and standard product costings.
• Experience leading a small finance team in a similar role.
• Experience producing management accounts.
• Track record of systems migration/implementation.
• Strong business partnering and communication skills to influence non‑finance stakeholders.
• Ambitious, proactive and keen to progress towards Head of Finance.
