Overview
Join the British Transport Police as a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) across Birmingham, Cardiff, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Newport, Swansea, Pontypridd and Oxford.
Responsibilities- Conduct visible patrols at stations and the railway network.
- Provide victim care and support to passengers, staff and relevant parties.
- Manage security threats and respond to incidents.
- Investigate minor crimes and produce reports.
- Build community relationships and promote public safety.
- Support police constables and other officers as required.
- Operate handcuffs and other authorised equipment.
- Resilience and strong customer service skills.
- Passion for community engagement and partnership‑building.
- Ability to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Permanent right to live and work in the UK; residing consistently in the UK for the last 3 years.
- No custodial sentence (including suspended), major criminal conviction, dismissal from force, live investigation, bankruptcy, CCJ, unmanaged IVA, offensive tattoos, or lack of right to live and work in the UK.
- Competitive salary of £28,486.92 up to £31,895.68; 15‑20% shift allowance.

- Must not have been unsuccessful within the last 6 months for PCSO with BTP.
- Must not have been unsuccessful for Police Officer, Special Constable or PCSO within 6 months.
- Must not have failed BTP vetting checks in the last 12 months.
- Must meet all requirements listed in the "Requirements & Qualifications" section.
BTP GPP Police Staff Pension Scheme, Royal London. Contributions 4.4%‑12% of salary. Existing members unaffected.
