Pharmacy Technician - Cystic Fibrosis

The closing date is 17 January 2026

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician to join the Cystic Fibrosis(CF) and Pharmacy Teams at the Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust.

Pharmacy services to the CF team are undergoing an exciting period of change. This role is in its infancy, and we are looking for an eager and innovative individual to develop the role of a technician in this area and improve how services are delivered. We want to increase the patient facing element of the service and expand our involvement. Working collaboratively with the CF team, our joint aim is to develop the service to further benefit our patients, who have complex needs.

If you have an ambition to develop your skills and improve a service whilst developing your knowledge, then come and talk to us about the changes happening.

The post holder will be based at the Birmingham Children's Hospital site and will be expected to provide expert medicines advice, medication reviews, counselling and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings. We also provide a homecare service to our patients and the postholder will be expected to work closely with the pharmacy homecare team.

The BWC pharmacy team was voted the Outstanding Clinical Team of the year.

The post holder will be expected to participate in the extended hours, weekend and bank holiday rotas.
