Whatyou will be doing:
As a Fleet Commercial Underwriter working in our Birmingham Branch, you will help drive and transform how we partner our broker portfolios, through responsive, flexible, and collaborative relationships. With a strong balance of technical and trading capability, you will be empowered to make decisions, supported by data, insight, and decision‑support tools on mobile technology to succeed.

- Experience of working in a Fleet underwriting environment, be it with an insurer or a broker, is preferred.
- Technical underwriting expertise.
- Strong trading capability, commercial awareness, and expert negotiation skills.
- Ability to build excellent broker relationships and a sound understanding of the current commercial insurance market.
- Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Developed analytical skills with proven experience of account monitoring and action planning.
- Ability to champion the change agenda, utilising your resilience skills to identify continuous improvement and drive change through to resolution.
- As a pre‑condition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime, which means that in addition to pre‑employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years, with an annual declaration in interim years.
