Motor Recoveries Solicitor (1–3 PQE)

Salary Range: £40,000 - £50,000

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid)

I am working exclusively with two senior Partners at a leading defendant law firm in the Midlands, who are expanding their motor recoveries team due to continued growth in insurer instructions.

The Partners are highly experienced in insurance litigation and work closely with major insurer and self-insured clients. The team handles a broad range of high-volume and technically varied motor recovery matters, spanning pre‑litigation recoveries through to issued proceedings and enforcement.

This is a strong opportunity for a Solicitor (1–3 PQE) to develop under experienced Partner supervision within a supportive, commercially focused insurance environment.

• You will manage a caseload of motor recovery matters with appropriate supervision from the Partner‑led team, supporting insurer clients to maximise recovery outcomes efficiently and commercially.

• Handling motor recoveries from initial assessment through to resolution
• Drafting pre‑action correspondence, pleadings and enforcement documentation
• Recoveries relating to credit hire, vehicle damage, loss of use and uninsured losses
• Liaising with insurers, claims handlers, engineers and third parties
• Progressing matters in line with the CPR and relevant pre‑action protocols
• Supporting senior fee‑earners on more complex recovery disputes where required

• Qualified solicitor with 1–3 years’ PQE in insurance litigation, motor claims or recoveries
• Background in defendant PI, insurance litigation or credit hire preferred
• Confident managing your own caseload with supervision
• Commercially minded, well organised and comfortable working to insurer KPIs

• Direct exposure to and mentoring from two experienced insurance litigation Partners
