School Caretaker (6–12 Month Contract)
Pay: £15.86–£17.30 per hour
Location: Handsworth
Type: Full-time, On-site
Contract Length: 6–12 months
Requirement: Enhanced DBS Check
Shift Pattern- Morning: 6:30am – 2:30pm
- Afternoon: 10:30am – 6:30pm
- Building & Grounds Maintenance: Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance, minor repairs, and general groundskeeping.
- Low Maintenance Jobs: Support with day-to-day, smaller maintenance tasks.
- Health & Safety: Ensure the site meets all health, safety, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Security: Open and lock the school, manage alarm systems, and respond to emergency call-outs.
- Contractor Liaison: Supervise contractors working on site.
- Stock & Supplies: Monitor and order essential supplies.
- Event Support: Assist with logistics for school events and activities.
- Previous school caretaker or school site experience is essential.
- A calm, patient attitude when working around children.
- Strong organisational and practical maintenance skills.
- A reliable, flexible, and proactive approach to work.
