We are looking for a proactive and organised Workshop Controller to join our team in Birmingham. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our workshop, managing workflow, and supporting our technicians to deliver high-quality service to our customers.

The Role
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day organisation and control of all productive workshop staff.
  • Deputise for the Depot Manager when not on site.
  • Ensure high levels of quality are maintained on all work produced.
  • Monitor productive staff utilisation, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations within the workshop are adhered to.
  • Liaise with the Customer Service Advisor on job progress.
  • Ensure customer issues are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
  • Fully understand the requirements of processing job cards and workflow.
  • Ensure that the MoT Quality Control procedure is adhered to.
Hours

Monday to Friday 08.00am until 17.00pm. 1 in 4 Saturday mornings 08.00am until 12.00noon.

Requirements
  • Qualifications:
    • City & Guilds Part 1 & 2, BTEC, or IMI in Motor Vehicle Management (or equivalent).
    • OR equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry or similar environment.
    • Workshop management experience within a commercial or similar environment is advantageous (full training will be provided).
  • HGV Licence:
    Advantageous but not essential.
  • IRTEC certification preferred.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
