About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Team Manager to join the SW Children’s Duty and Assessment Team in Birmingham
. This pivotal role offers the chance to lead a high-performing team focused on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people across the city.

As a key member of the service, you will guide and inspire a team of social workers to deliver timely, high-quality assessments and interventions. With both part-time and full-time options available, this role provides flexibility alongside the opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference in children’s lives.

Engage with multi-agency partners including health, education, police, and early help services for a holistic approach to safeguarding.

What You Will Do

Lead, motivate, and support a team of social workers to deliver effective, child-centred assessments and interventions.

Oversee the allocation and prioritisation of referrals, ensuring all work complies with statutory requirements and timescales.

Provide professional supervision and mentoring to staff, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.

Ensure assessments and care plans are robust, outcome-focused, and incorporate the child’s voice.

Implement rigorous safeguarding measures and risk management processes to ensure children’s safety and well-being.

Build and maintain collaborative relationships with partner agencies to deliver integrated, multi-agency responses.

Encourage reflective practice and support the professional development of team members.

Monitor and evaluate team performance, ensuring high standards of practice and service delivery.

Contribute to service planning, development, and improvement aligned with the Trust’s vision and strategic goals.

Represent the Trust in court proceedings and multi-agency forums where required.
