Salary: £27,500 – £30,000 plus vehicle and fuel card

Would you like an exciting opportunity to join a growing business? Due to growth, we are looking for an Arborist to join our experienced team on a permanent basis.

As Arborist for the Crown Group, this role plays a crucial role in maintaining safe and efficient rail operations by ensuring vegetation near railway lines is managed effectively.

• Cut back overgrown vegetation, including trees, shrubs, and grass, from trackside areas.
• Remove plants obstructing signals, signage, or impeding visibility for train drivers.
• Safely fell trees and remove overhanging branches that pose a risk to railway infrastructure.
• Cut low shrubs using chainsaws and other specialist equipment following safety procedures.
• Assist with visual inspections of vegetation along rail corridors.
• Identify potential hazards (e.g., diseased trees, landslip risks) and report them to supervisors.
• Operate hand tools, brush cutters, hedge trimmers, strimmers, and chainsaws.
• Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Work as part of a team, communicating clearly with team members, supervisors, and office teams.

• PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification.
• LANTRA or NPTC certification for chainsaw or strimming tickets.
• Basic knowledge of railway infrastructure and vegetation risks.
• Good physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in all conditions.
