Position: Social Work Assistant (SWA)

Social Work Assistant (SWA) Description The Social Work Assistant (SWA) plays a critical role in supporting social workers and other professionals in delivering essential services to individuals and families in need.

The SWA will assist in addressing social, emotional, and practical challenges that clients face in their daily lives.

This position requires compassion, strong communication skills, and a commitment to helping vulnerable populations in our community.

The ideal candidate will engage with clients directly, providing support and resources that contribute to their overall well-being.

The SWA will also help in the coordination of care, ensuring that clients have access to necessary services, such as counseling and community programs.

This role typically involves working in various environments, including schools, community centers, and healthcare facilities.

Collaboration with social workers, psychologists, and other professionals is essential in developing a comprehensive plan to meet client needs.

Additionally, the SWA will contribute to maintaining accurate records and performing administrative tasks that support the smooth operation of the social work department.

Responsibilities Assist social workers in providing direct support to clients and families in need.

Communicate effectively with clients to assess their needs and concerns.

Facilitate workshops and support groups to educate clients about available resources and coping strategies.

Requirements Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field preferred.

Experience in social services or a related environment is highly desirable.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.

Ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding toward clients from diverse backgrounds.

Proficiency in documented case management and record-keeping practices.

Knowledge of local community resources and services for individuals and families.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, as needed.
