Conversational Audio Data Collection - English (UK)

TELUS International is seeking participants in pairs for a conversational audio data collection project that can be completed remotely from the comfort of your own home.

Objective: gather approximately 50 minutes of unscripted conversational audio between each pair.

Task

Description:

The participating pair will record 5 different conversations (around 10 minutes each) with varied tones and animated delivery. Topics must cover a range of natural, informal subjects such as hobbies, pets, travel, sports, etc. No topics about medical or health conditions, or financial situations of yourself or others.

Both participants will join a Zoom call with a TELUS International moderator who will support the task.

Estimated time to complete the task: 1.5 - 2 hours, including setup time and breaks between conversations for selecting topics.

Expected project duration: October to mid-November.

Each participant must register separately. Each participant can only complete the project once.

Qualification Path:

• 18+ years of age
• Located in the UK
• Proficient English speaker (any UK regional accent)
• Smartphone, laptop or desktop computer to perform the task
• Stable internet connection for the duration of the task
• Basic audio quality standards must be met (studio setup not required)
