Missing Support Worker at Birmingham Children’s Trust
We are looking for dynamic, motivated individuals to join our Empower U team as Missing Support Workers. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a focused engagement with children who have gone missing.
Responsibilities- Conduct high‑quality return‑home interviews with children who have gone missing, either one‑off or on a regular basis.
- Assess safeguarding concerns and contextual risks, documenting and reporting findings.
- Develop and deliver recommendations to prevent further missing episodes based on each visit.
- Manage your own schedule and caseload, often under tight time‑frames, and travel extensively across the region.
- Work independently while collaborating with professionals and local organisations as part of a multi‑agency Exploitation Hub.
- Experience engaging young people in creative, non‑judgemental ways.
- Good safeguarding knowledge and ability to identify and address risks.
- Strong people skills and the ability to engage children who may not have a pre‑existing relationship.
- Confidence to work independently, prioritise tasks, and travel city‑wide.
- Evidence of a caring, curious nature and a commitment to empowering children.

- This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham; the successful candidate must be able to commute within a suitable distance of the city.
