Build and evolve the backend services that power SQE’s trading, billing and reconciliation systems — ensuring the core of the platform is fast, reliable and scalable.

SQE is rebuilding the energy supply business from the ground up for large industrial and commercial users. We connect big buyers directly with independent generators — unlocking contracts that manage risk, reward flexibility, and deliver a modern enterprise-grade experience.

Our engineers have already built the hard stuff : a modern trading engine, best-in-class billing and reconciliation systems, and the backbone for flexibility and MCE. Now we’re integrating everything — bringing polish, usability, and performance to match the technical depth beneath.

• Resilient, modular backend services that scale with our customers.
• Data models and APIs that underpin trading, billing, and analytics.

• Architect and build backend systems in JS and Type Script.
• Manage data flows between Postgres, Redshift, and analytics layers.
• Design APIs for frontend and external integrations.
• Balance speed and quality — building for the long term.

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience in complex systems.
• Experience with data warehousing or distributed systems.
• Experience with brown field, refactoring.
• A calm, pragmatic and simple approach to systems design.
• Dev Ops experience is a plus (from monitoring with Data Dog & Cloudwatch to Terraform and code pipelines).
