Position: Volunteer Clerk to the Board

About The Role

The post holder will also assist the Company Secretary in organising dates for a pre-meeting with the Chair at which the Clerk will take note of the agenda that is to be drawn up and will then ensure that said agenda is distributed to all Directors at least a week prior to the meeting. The Clerk will ensure that the monthly management reports and financial reports have been distributed to all directors and will advise the Company Secretary of any other business Directors intimate they wish to discuss prior to the meeting.

Training will be provided to the post holder in how to use Microsoft Teams to organise and record meetings and how to use Fireflies to record, edit and download meetings.

Requirements
  • The post holder should have access to broadband enabling them to take part in online meetings.
  • Cue and Review Recording Service will provide a laptop to the post holder to enable them to undertake this work.
  • A board clerk needs to be IT literate, have good administrative and record-keeping skills, be aware of confidentiality and be able to follow relevant policies.

  • In your work as a volunteer for Cue and Review Print Speaking to the Blind you may have access to confidential information from service users and staff that you should not share with people outside of the organisation. In this you will be maintaining confidentiality.
  • It is not appropriate for you to discuss or disclose personal information about service users, staff members or volunteers outside of the organisation, e.g. addresses, phone numbers, etc.
