Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for a experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our high‑performing commercial team at Ardent Advisors
. The role is aligned with our Affinity Water client and offers a competitive salary of £45,000‑£55,000.

The position focuses on cost control, profitability and delivering sustainable, carbon‑positive infrastructure for a growing utilities portfolio.

• Generate weekly revenue and cost reports
• Control submissions of daily completed jobs
• Produce ‘Schedule of Rates’ and reconcile subcontractor costs
• Prepare payment certificates and liaise with Operations and Planning to monitor job progress and scope changes
• Review scheme works to ensure targets are achieved and price completed jobs for high‑volume works
• Develop relationships with clients during ‘Work in Progress’ days
• Analyse weekly and monthly cost and revenue data

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in utilities, civil or mechanical engineering, ideally within the water sector
• Manage high‑volume, low‑value works with a solid understanding of NEC contract schemes
• Strong knowledge of subcontractor management and commercial management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or HNC/HND in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
• Excellent communication, relationship‑building and problem‑solving skills
