Customer Service Rep, Bilingual
Job Introduction
Are you a customer focused individual who would enjoy working as part of a team in a front line service? We are looking for someone like you to join our team! If we are a good fit for you, you will have the opportunity to advise residents across a range of our services, such as benefits, council tax, parking and waste.
Whatwill you be doing?
- Providing customers with prompt, effective and courteous front‑line services via telephone, email and in person;
- Promoting and supporting East Herts online services while offering assisted self‑service for customers who cannot use online applications without support;
- Using technology such as CRM, case‑management systems, the internet, intranet and social media to access information in order to respond to customer queries.
- NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service or equivalent experience;
- Ability to multi‑task while remaining calm and professional in a pressurised, fast‑paced customer‑service environment;
- Experience dealing with difficult customers and handling sensitive information;
- Competency in using IT systems, including Microsoft Office;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- 26–29 days annual leave rising to 34 days with 5 years local government service;

Please note that working up to two days per week in the Hertford and/or Bishop’s Stortford office is essential. Part‑time working will be considered, and optional part‑time home‑working is available following training and a performance review.
