Cafe Barista

About the role

We’re recruiting a dedicated Cafe Barista to support the smooth running of operations in Chartwells on a part‑time basis, contracted to 30 hours per week.

As a Cafe Barista, you will maintain a high standard of quality work and have the chance to progress your career with a company that invests in its people, celebrates individuality, and rewards employees who go beyond the plate.

• Preparing perfectly blended drinks and serving high‑quality food that delights customers
• Keeping the bar area clean
• Receiving and processing payments (cash and credit cards)
• Being an enthusiastic team player and excellent communicator
• Maintaining stock of clean mugs and plates
• Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation and presentation techniques
• Checking if brewing equipment operates properly and reporting any maintenance needs
• Representing Chartwells and maintaining a positive brand image
• Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
• Complying with Health & Safety regulations

• Be a brilliant communicator and easily build relationships
• Have previous experience in customer service
• Strive for excellence in an eager and motivated manner
• Take initiative and make decisions that are right for customers
• Have hands‑on experience with brewing equipment
• Possess the ability to work under pressure
• Demonstrate exceptional time‑keeping and reliability
