Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated Audit and Tax Associate to join our team. You will play a key part in both our audit and tax practices. During tax season, you will assist with preparing returns, while outside of that period, you will engage in audit field work and financial reporting tasks. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop a broad skillset and gain invaluable experience across multiple disciplines of public accounting.

Responsibilities:

Tax Responsibilities (Primary Focus during Tax Season)

  • Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individual, partnerships, and corporations,
  • Research complex tax issues and assist with tax planning strategies,
  • Interact with clients to gather necessary financial information and answer tax-related questions,
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of tax-related data.

Audit Responsibilities (Primary Focus outside of Tax Season)

  • Assist in planning and executing financial statement audits and other assurance engagements,
  • Perform substantive and control testing procedures,
  • Help prepare client financial statements and related footnotes,
  • Document audit findings and support audit conclusions with clear work papers,
  • Collaborate with senior staff to ensure engagement deliverables are completed accurately and on time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA License preferred,
  • Three plus years of recent public accounting experience, including some exposure to both audit and tax work,
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant tax laws,
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
