£33.24 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35

6 or 12 Month Contract initially.

This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK's leading Defence organisations based In Samlesbury. Hybrid working (2-3 days per week on site)

This role is working in the DLF & Service Provision Value Team. A Procurement Engineer with responsibility for one or more suppliers, actively managing and driving strategic "Value" related sourcing activities for your area of responsibility. You will be undertaking analysis of supplier pricing to ensure value for money, driving cost reductions and leading affordability campaigns, ensuring effective supplier risk management and supply chain resilience.

You will be an integral stakeholder in enabling supplier performance through effective sourcing and supplier relationship management providing support to Life Cycle Management and associated Governance activities; all whilst managing your various internal stakeholders.

Knowledge:
- A Continuous Improvement mind-set with proven examples of identifying new ideas that drive improvement, problem solving and working collaboratively with others to identify a solution ideally within a Procurement (or similar) environment
- Detailed understanding and experience of supplier risk and opportunity management
- Working understanding of tool sets and IT such as ERP systems, Microsoft Office programs particularly in Excel.
Desirable;
- Previous experience of managing strategic Supplier relationships and complex development contracts

Skills:

- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, fostering close & trusting relationships with a network of demanding internal and external stakeholders
- Negotiation skills â€" experience of price and contractual terms and conditions negotiations
- Ability to compile data, analyse and propose recommendations through reports and presentations
