Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Blackburn

Shift: Mixture of early, day, late and some weekend shifts. X3 months a year are Monday‑Friday days.

Role: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventive and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults quickly to minimise downtime.
  • Support engineering team to improve machine performance.
  • Maintain health, safety, and food safety standards.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records.
  • Assist with projects, installations, and upgrades.

Ideal Candidate:

  • City & Guilds Level 2 or ONC or similar qualification.
  • Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of pressure systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives.
  • Strong fault‑finding skills and ability to work under pressure.
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Accrington

Salary: £43,050 per annum.
Holidays: 33 days a year.
Shifts: Monday‑Friday double days (6‑2/2‑10). Work one weekend in every six, with rest days on Monday and Tuesday.

Role: Join a food manufacturing company to minimise downtime, support CI, and ensure safety.

Role: Manage proactive and reactive maintenance to maximise reliability of mechanical plant and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults efficiently.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics and manuals.
  • Perform welding, fabrication and machining as needed.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
  • Develop and implement predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and cost‑saving opportunities.

Requirements:

  • HND/HNC Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Strong hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical power transmission knowledge.
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings and diagnostics.
  • Experience with fabrication and welding advantageous.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, communication and teamwork skills.
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Automated Systems – Manchester

Role: Maintain automated production systems, manage preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical faults.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on robotic arms, conveyor systems and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
  • Diagnose and fix mechanical faults, including PLC diagnostics and basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Read technical drawings and schematics.
  • Maintain all safety procedures strictly.
  • Provide shift work support including nights and weekends.

Requirements:

  • HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
