Axon Moore is delighted to be partnering with a rapidly growing manufacturing business based in Blackburn to recruit a Management Accountant. This is a newly created position, designed to support the business through a continued period of impressive growth.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a key role in strengthening the finance function and helping to deliver the business's ambitious five-year growth strategy. You'll take ownership of the management accounts and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and wider strategic initiatives.
This role offers clear internal progression, with the opportunity to expand the finance team over time and step into a Financial Controller position. The role would be best suited to ACCA or CIMA studiers who have prior experience working within the manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare monthly management accounts for all sites within the Group, including P&L and Balance Sheets.
- Perform variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance.
- Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations (incl. accruals, prepayments, fixed assets) ensuring timely reconciliation in line with month-end reporting deadlines.
- Building relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Support the Finance Director with annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasts.
- Support the Finance Director with cash flow monitoring, working capital and covenant compliance.
- Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts, tax and audit.
- Assist with the continuous improvement of financial controls, systems, and processes.
- Ad-hoc projects to assist Head of Finance to make commercial/strategic decisions.
- Managing HMRC compliance (VAT, PAYE).
- Part Qualified/Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a management accountant role, ideally within an SME.
- Experience working within the manufacturing sector.
- Experience preparing management accounts for multiple sites/entities.
- Confident and strong communication skills/ability to build strong relationships.
- Strong technical finance background.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail and accuracy.
- Starting salary up to £45,000.
