Audit Senior

We are seeking a Senior Auditor to join our client’s dynamic team in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will lead audit engagements from planning to completion, review the work of junior team members, and ensure compliance with auditing and accounting standards. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality audit outcomes while building and maintaining strong client relationships.

• Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion in accordance with auditing standards and firm methodology
• Assess internal controls, identify areas of risk, and provide recommendations for process improvements
• Review and analyse financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with applicable accounting frameworks (IFRS/GAAP)
• Supervise and mentor junior audit staff, providing guidance and reviewing their work for quality and accuracy
• Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures to verify financial information and detect irregularities
• Prepare detailed audit findings, management reports, and recommendations for client presentations
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain audit evidence, discuss findings, and ensure smooth engagement delivery
• Monitor audit budgets and timelines, ensuring engagements are completed efficiently and within scope
• Collaborate with partners and managers to identify new business opportunities and strengthen client relationships
• Stay current with changes in auditing and accounting standards to ensure ongoing compliance and professional excellence

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Auditing, or Finance (Honours or Postgraduate qualification advantageous)
• Completed or nearly completed SAICA/SAIPA articles
• 3–5 years’ auditing experience, with exposure to a range of industries
• Solid understanding of IFRS, ISA, and relevant legislation
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities
• Proficient in Case Ware, Excel, and accounting/audit software (e.g. Pastel, Draftworx, or SAGE)
• High level of accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple audit engagements and lead junior team members
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle advantageous
• Proficiency in Afrikaans is an advantage
