Position: PR Eng. / Tech. Civil Engineer

Overview

Hire Resolve is currently seeking a highly experienced and skilled PR Eng / Tech Civil Engineer to join our client’s team for an urgent project based in Bloemfontein.

The project focuses on the rehabilitation and strengthening of National Roads. As a vital member of the team, you will be entrusted with overseeing various stages of the project, ensuring its successful completion within budget and time constraints while maintaining the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct visual inspections and assessments of the project site to pinpoint areas in need of rehabilitation and strengthening.
  • Coordinate and execute necessary investigations to inform the design development process.
  • Oversee detailed design phases, ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive tender documentation in alignment with project specifications.
  • Participate in clarification meetings, manage the tender period, and evaluate tender submissions.
  • Administer the works contract, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to contractual agreements.
  • Provide additional support, special services, and expert advice as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement and supervise quality control measures to ensure top-notch workmanship and materials.
  • Facilitate the closeout process, including final inspections, documentation, and project handover.

    • Requirements:

  • Professional registration as a Professional Engineer or Technologist with relevant engineering authorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in roads, upgrades, and rehabilitation projects, with a preference for specific experience on SANRAL projects.
  • Must be based in Bloemfontein or willing to relocate for the project’s duration.
  • Demonstrated maturity and proven experience in managing complex engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in road design and construction principles, along with a robust understanding of relevant regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders, contractors, and team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a proactive approach to overcoming project challenges.
  • Capability to thrive under tight deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities.
