Overview

Hire Resolve is currently seeking a skilled Field Services Engineer on behalf of our esteemed client, a leading data centre and storage specialist as well as a systems integrator. This role is crucial in providing 1st and 2nd line support, as well as the installation of network switches, routers, hosted IP telephony systems, and other CPE equipment at customer sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and support of various customer equipment, along with NID devices.

Additionally, the role involves racking and stacking equipment in the VB points of presence (POPs).

Responsibilities

  • Provide solution and product-specific consultation and support.
  • Configure and set up networking devices to be deployed on the Vodacom Network.
  • Design and deploy Cisco switch configurations.
  • Ensure devices are configured correctly for deployment.
  • Ensure devices are ready for shipment in time for scheduled deployment.
  • Manage regional support stock levels.
  • Attend and advise on solution scoping meetings.
  • Assume direct responsibility for support and contract deliverables.
  • Requirements

  • Strong telephony device experience.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of LAN and WAN infrastructure.
  • In-depth network knowledge, particularly in Cisco and related networking equipment.
  • Understanding of SD-WAN solutions.
  • Good understanding of wireless solutions.
  • Fully developed knowledge of the business, marketplace, and clients.
  • Recognized as an expert within the organization.
  • Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices.
  • Provides technical guidance to junior staff.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with peers, brand leaders, and senior management.
  • Capable of “big picture” thinking.
  • Excellent leadership, team-building, and management skills.
  • Encouraging and able to mentor and lead.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to align multiple strategies and ideas.
  • Confident in producing and presenting work.
  • In-depth understanding of the industry.
  • N+ A+, CCNA or equivalent, HCNA, HCNP (preferably), CCNP (preferably).
