Air and Ocean Import Agent

USA Remote | International Freight Forwarding | Cargo Wise Required

We are working with an international freight forwarder looking to add an experienced Air & Ocean Freight Agent to its team on a fully remote basis anywhere in the USA
.

This is a hands-on operational role managing international air and ocean shipments from start to finish, with responsibility for customer communication, carrier coordination and shipment execution.

Responsibilities

• Manage international air and ocean import and export shipments
• Handle shipments from booking through final delivery
• Coordinate with airlines, steamship lines, NVOCCs, overseas agents and truckers
• Prepare and process shipping documentation
• Manage pre-alerts, arrival notices and shipment releases
• Coordinate customs clearance with brokers where required
• Monitor shipment milestones, cut-offs and delivery deadlines
• Provide proactive updates to customers
• Resolve delays, documentation issues and operational problems
• Maintain accurate files and shipment information within Cargo Wise
• Complete files accurately for billing and operational closure

Requirements

• Previous experience within international freight forwarding
• Hands-on experience with both air and ocean freight
• Experience across imports and exports
• Strong working knowledge of Cargo Wise
• Good understanding of international shipping documentation and processes
• Experience working with carriers, overseas agents and customers
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Strong attention to detail and organisation
