Payroll/Accounts Assistant | Bolton (BL1) | Full-time, office-based:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm | £28,000-£32,000, depending on experience

Based in Bolton, Greater Manchester, they pride themselves on getting to know their clients and their business, delivering bespoke advice to help them improve the growth of their business. Their services encompass advice for businesses, audit, accounts preparation, tax planning, management accounts, bookkeeping, payroll, and personal tax returns.

Their team values enthusiasm, precision, and a keen eye for detail. They are seeking a talented Payroll/Accounts Assistant to join their dedicated team and contribute to their ongoing success.

Are you the right person for the job?
  • Experience in payroll and bookkeeping
  • Minimum AAT qualified
  • At least 2 years of previous experience working in an accountancy practice
  • Proficiency in Sage 50, Xero, and Quick Books
  • Enthusiastic, presentable and detail‑oriented
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be clearly understandable
  • First interview to be conducted via Microsoft Teams
What will your role look like?
  • Manage payroll and bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
  • Preparing payslips & distributing employees
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Basic VAT preparation
  • Utilise software such as Brightpay, Moneysoft, Tax Calc, Sage 50, Xero, and Quick Books
  • Answering the telephone and dealing with simple queries
