Healthcare Administration, Medical Receptionist
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and efficient Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join our busy GP Surgery team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week, with the following working pattern:
- Monday:08:00am - 15:00pm
- Tuesday:08:00am- 17:30pm
- Thursday:08:00am - 15:00pm
- Friday:11:00am - 18:30pm

Main duties of the jobWe are seeking a friendly and efficient Receptionist to join our busy GP Surgery team. The main duties include:
- Welcoming and assisting patients both in person and over the telephone
- Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments using clinical systems
- Managing patient enquiries with professionalism, empathy, and strict confidentiality
- Processing repeat prescriptions, test results, and medical documentation
- Providing administrative support to clinicians and the wider practice team
- Supporting the practice in meeting QOF and BQC KPI requirements
- Referring patients to the appropriate services or specialties as needed
Alastair Ross Medical Practice is a well-established GP surgery located within Breightmet Health Centre, a modern, purpose-built facility. Our multidisciplinary team includes four General Practitioners, one Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a Healthcare Assistant, and a Practice Nurse, all dedicated to delivering safe, patient-centred, high-quality care to our community. - Managing the amalgamation and processing of new patient records
- Following all practice policies and procedures
- Completing administrative tasks, including scanning, filing, and data entry
- Liaising with clinicians, patients, and external healthcare professionals
- Ensuring administrative work contributes to meeting QOF, BQC, and IIF KPIs
- GCSE Grades A - C in English and Maths Microsoft literate
- Experience of working in a GP practice is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
