Graduate Geotechnical Engineer

This position is ideal for someone keen to develop their career in geotechnical engineering and looking to become a chartered geologist (CGeol) or engineer (CEng). Candidates will be involved in site‑based Construction Quality Assurance supervision for major landfill and containment projects such as installation of gas infrastructure, landfill cell construction, landfill capping, earthworks, compaction, and restoration works. Supervision of other geotechnical site investigations and construction projects will also be required. Site works will be complemented by development of detailed design, interpretive and factual reporting, scheduling of laboratory testing, health and safety risk assessment, and planning.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to be involved in the day‑to‑day running of projects across the North of England and further afield, with potential for overseas work. Given our diverse business, you will gain experience across multiple geoscience disciplines.

Motivated and organised Engineer, chartered or working toward chartered status.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Waste Management, Applied Geology, Engineering Geology, or Environmental Geology; an MSc in a related subject is a bonus.
• Understanding of landfill guidance, design, construction, CQA, and development of site investigation and monitoring strategies.
• Knowledge of engineering containment and landfill site design.

Experience in data collection, assessment, and reporting on the CQA protocol.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to support the technical team.
• Full UK driver’s licence, as the role requires site travel.
