PCB Layout Engineer – MBDA

MBDA invites applications for an experienced PCB Layout Engineer who will support critical internal programmes across a broad range of technologies. The role is based at the Bolton site with regular travel to Stevenage for collaboration with our design team.

• Design and develop complex PCB Layouts for high‑reliability defence programmes, including PTH, multilayer, surface mount, impedance‑matched and RF boards.
• Apply emerging technologies to meet reliability, yield and cost objectives while ensuring designs are manufacturable.
• Lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers in best practices for layout and fabrication.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to adapt designs to evolving requirements and constraints.

• Extensive experience in RF, high‑speed, analogue, power or EMC PCB design.
• In‑depth knowledge of PCB layout best practices for high‑reliability products.
• Strong understanding of PCB fabrication processes, stack‑ups and materials.
• Excellent negotiation, influencing and communication skills for international partners.
• Leadership experience in design reviews and technology introductions at national and international levels.

Bolton site (hybrid) – 2 days on‑site per week, 3 days remote.

British citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship required. BPSS checks will be conducted after offer.

Circa £55,000, dependent on experience.
