Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of sectors including commercial offices, stadiums & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education. The division has manufacturing sites in three locations:
Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and together cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the bar high in their highly complex market!
The purpose of this role is to model detailing and production of fabrication drawings by interpreting and processing information for structural steel detailing. This will involve producing 3D models of steel structures based on information from the client. You will produce and check the models and drawings given by Industrial field class, fabrication drawings and marking plans, including TEKLA modelling. Also produce General Arrangement (GA) drawings from architects/engineers drawings.
You will also need to order preliminary materials and be responsible for raising RFIs directly to the client and gathering information needed to coordinate details for production. Good communication skills are needed for the role, as you will be liaising with the design team, architects, consultant engineers, and other departments to coordinate projects.
- Extensive experience using TEKLA Structures – Essential
- Strong CAD skills as your primary design tool
- Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word
- Advanced knowledge of TEKLA firm folders and settings – Advantageous
- A working knowledge of BIM processes
