Group Financial Controller

An exciting new opportunity has become available within the Group Finance department of an ambitious and growing Private Equity backed business for a driven and enthusiastic individual. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will be part of the Group Finance Department. Role

• Management responsibility - This role will come with 2 direct reports.
• Responsible for all technical accounting elements of the group + costs
• Lead small finance team responsible for costs across the group (payroll + overheads)
• Ensuring the business maintains a strong financial control environment - oversight, improvement, and documentation of group financial controls - working with divisional FCs
• Ensure consistency of process across all group divisions
• Responsible for the preparation of the group financial statements (IFRS) and the group audit - working closely with auditors and group FCs
• Support Group FD with ad hoc change projects and onboarding acquisitions
• Ownership of the preparation of the Group monthly management accounts (consolidation, cashflow, KPIs, etc)
• Support with monthly and weekly reporting to the private equity owners and funders
• Provide ad hoc support to the Group FD, CFO/ CEO and business MDs
• Work with tax advisors for tax accounting and ensure robust tax controls
• Ensure consistency in policy and process across the group (prepayments, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliations)
• General oversight, improvement and documentation of group financial controls - working with divisional FCs
• Accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
• Positive, can-do attitude with an enthusiastic and energetic approach to work - a "go getter"
• Strong Technical accounting background, either in a large audit firm or in a large organisation
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

• Candidate with a "systems" and "Automation" mindset ensuring processes are as slick as possible
• The ideal candidate will be audit trained in a sizable firm with a couple of years industry experience
