DCT Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing organisation based in Widnes. We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join their dynamic finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and professional environment.
About the Role:
As the Accounts Manager, you will take responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the finance function. You will ensure the smooth running of the department, maintain accurate financial records, and support senior management with clear and timely financial information to aid decision-making. This role would suit someone with strong technical ability, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to work.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing the day-to-day operations of the accounts department
Preparing monthly management accounts, financial statements, and performance reports
Completing month-end and year-end processes
Managing cashflow, budgeting, and forecasting
Overseeing VAT returns, payroll, and general bookkeeping
Monitoring financial controls and ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards
Supporting audits and liaising with external accountants as required
Reviewing processes and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency
Supervising, supporting, and developing junior finance staff
Communicating effectively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders
Candidate Requirements:
Previous experience in an Accounts Manager or Senior Accounts role
AAT qualified or part/fully qualified ACCA/ACA (desirable)
Strong understanding of UK accounting principles and legislation
Confident in producing financial reports and interpreting data
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Strong IT skills, including accounting software and Microsoft Office
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently
A proactive, hands-on approach with a commitment to maintaining high standards
