Location:
Bolton Contract Type: 12-month contract (likely to be extended) Working Pattern: 37hrs/week, full-time onsite Rates:
Umbrella: £35 per hour PAYE: £26.92 per hour holiday pay Morson is currently recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of our defence client based in Bolton. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing manufacturing environment, supporting complex products across multiple projects. You will be a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, ensuring products are built efficiently, right first time, and to budget.
Key Responsibilities Compile, maintain and update Manufacturing Instructions Design, commission and prove associated tooling Support industrial validation activities, including FMEAs, FAIs and related processes Resolve technical issues arising during the manufacturing process Implement route card changes resulting from rework activities Manage configuration control by embodying design modifications into Manufacturing Instructions Support the Non-Conformance process using SAP Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to support manufacturing delivery Skills & Experience Required Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 / TR23 / TR21 with ONC Level 3 OR formal further education qualification to HNC (or equivalent) with relevant engineering experience - essential Minimum of 5 years' experience within an engineering or manufacturing discipline Ability to interpret design drawings and produce clear Manufacturing Build Instructions for skilled and semi-skilled operators
Experience of electronic sub-assembly manufacture through to system-level builds Knowledge of assembly processes for small/miniature electro-mechanical actuation systems Strong team-working capability with the ability to contribute in a collaborative environment Clear understanding of customer requirements and the ability to respond effectively Ability to work to defined company processes and procedures Strong communication skills, able to engage at all levels of the organisation
