Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.  
We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.
This role will be within our Distribution & EV team. We’re working hard to make safe, quality, sustainable EV projects a reality. Our teams install charging stations, ensuring they are accessible and reliable, and ingrate them into the energy network.

This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days working from our office in Bootle.

What will you be doing?

We’re looking for an established Estimator with experience in assessing bid opportunities, leading to a bid / no-bid review. Are you able to evaluate project risks and potential problems, whilst checking the accuracy and completeness of client’s tender documents?
Do you have a talent for determining the Civils BofQ for pricing? The ability to build up rates from first principles (labour, plant, materials) is essential.
We’re looking for someone who can assist in the preparation of tender submission and deliver post tender presentations to the client. Someone who can assist in the technical and estimating element of preparation of tender and quotations from specification and drawings within defined time periods.

What you’ll bring

An estimating background from a civil environment (trenching, drainage and ductwork installations, kerbing, reinforced concrete foundations)

Experience of delivering capital projects
Strong commercial acumen – knowledge of forms of contract (NEC, ICE & JCT)
Understanding of how electrical infrastructure is constructed, operated and maintained with an appreciation of National Grid and DNO Standards
Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft, particularly Excel
Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work with staff at all levels
The ability and desire to identify opportunities for improvement, and influence change
Organised with a high attention to detail and the ability to react to constant changing workloads
Excellent people management skills
Understanding of the planning and sequencing of construction projects
