Senior Bookkeeper – Borehamwood

Job Type: Full time – Permanent
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (flexible, hybrid working)
Holiday: 20 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)

We need an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our Borehamwood office, supporting a growing team and taking on additional responsibilities as required.

• Preparation of Management Accounts
• Preparation of VAT Returns and CIS returns
• Sales and Purchase Ledger processing
• Managing Prepayments & Accruals
• Bank reconciliations
• Reconciliation of Balance Sheet Control Accounts
• Reconciliation of Accounts

• Practical work experience in a practice environment
• Experience using Sage, Xero & related apps preferred
• Strong IT skills
• Provide app advisory services & deliver software (Xero) training and support to clients
• Handle daily/weekly bookkeeping & VAT return preparation; primary contact for clients on record‑keeping matters
• Ability to manage own tasks, good time management, and work under pressure to tight deadlines
• Statutory Accounts Preparation experience
• Experience training & reviewing the work of outsourcing staff
• Self‑discipline, organised, proactive, and able to justify own decisions
• Experience with IRIS Accountancy suite a plus
