OverviewWe are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and proactive Project Engineer to oversee the full lifecycle of projects, from planning and design through to commissioning. Using manufacturing centres across Europe for primary equipment and sourcing ancillary components locally, you will manage projects involving equipment supply, installation, special skid‑built solutions, and turnkey deliveries.
Project values typically range from £30k to £2m. In most cases, the commissioning phase is handled by the company’s dedicated Service Division, with your role ensuring smooth coordination and delivery at every stage.
Reporting to the Divisional Manager, this role will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the supervision and administration of multiple projects, from order placement to final commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate planning, design, procurement, manufacturing, subcontractors, installation, despatch, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure all project data is accurately captured and maintained to support procurement and production requirements.
- Manage contractual and commercial aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with agreed terms.
- Maintain clear communication and strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to meet project expectations.
- Monitor project finances to ensure adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Proven experience in plant or process engineering, ideally within mechanical contracting services or process engineering, particularly in steam or high‑temperature process heating.
- Strong track record in technology‑driven, multi‑disciplinary projects.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Net Suite or Salesforce is advantageous but not essential.
- HNC/Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience in a compatible industry or with manufacturers of process‑related equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation, and with customers and suppliers.
- Collaborative mindset, able to work seamlessly within a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.
