Here at Bournemouth & Poole College, we are looking to recruit a Health and Safety Assistant on a full time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £24,758 per annum. The Health and Safety Assistant Role:
As the Health and Safety Assistant, you will support the Health and Safety Manager in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice across all college activities, including work placements, apprenticeships, first aid, and mental health first aid. The role combines proactive involvement in maintaining a safe, well-organised environment for staff, students, and visitors with the provision of high-quality administrative support.

Key Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Assistant:
Coordinate and issue all requests relating to WEX, T-Levels and apprenticeships. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all correspondence and departmental documentation. Undertake all aspects of administrative tasks required by the Health & Safety Department, including document preparation, filing, scheduling, and record management Organise and oversee the college-wide first aid rota, ensuring sufficient coverage across all sites. Develop and distribute monthly first aid topics to support ongoing awareness and training.

Produce monthly topics and guidance materials to promote mental health awareness and support Maintain all records and systems in accordance with GDPR, the Data Protection Act, and college policies, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and audit readiness

About You:

GCSE or equivalent level 2 in English and Mathematics, A-C or 9-4 IOSH Working Safely qualification First Aid at Work qualification Administrative work experience in a busy office environment Communication skills including written and verbal Benefits:
