We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing costs and budgets throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about cost control and project management within the construction industry. The role involves collaborating closely with project teams to ensure financial efficiency and adherence to contractual obligations, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality projects.
Please note, as we are looking for an experienced professional to join our friendly team, we will only be considering applicants with a minimum of 8 years experience and RICS qualification to ideally MRICS.
Responsibilities- Prepare, analyse, and manage project budgets, estimates, and cost plans from inception to completion.
- Conduct detailed cost control and financial reporting to monitor project expenditure against budgets.
- Assist in procurement processes, including tendering, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Measure and value completed work for payment purposes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage variations and change orders, assessing their impact on overall project costs.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to communicate financial status and resolve any cost-related issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company policies throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of cost control principles, budgeting, and financial management.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools such as MS Excel, CostX, or equivalent programmes.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills to liaise confidently with clients, contractors, and team members.
