Launch your engineering career with Amazon as an RME Mechatronics Apprentice. This 36‑48 month fixed‑term contract offers hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge robotics, conveyor networks, and smart sensor technology. As part of the Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, you will keep vital machinery running, maintain complex automated equipment and work in a safety‑focused environment. Key job responsibilities include:
- Carrying out proactive and preventive maintenance
- Conducting reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse
- Using advanced tools to maximise equipment effectiveness
- Modifying and upgrading existing equipment
- Upholding health and safety policies and practices
- Participating in continuous improvement projects
Throughout the apprenticeship you will learn fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, fluid power systems, mechanical device maintenance, electrical wiring, hydraulics, pneumatics and PLC operations. You will also experience CAD design, 3D printing and general site maintenance. Important Qualification Reminder The programme requires proof of all qualifying qualifications by 17 July 2026. Failure to provide verified qualifications by this date will result in automatic rejection.
Basic Qualifications
- UK national or non‑UK national with the right to work in the UK; or an EU national with settled status
- Resident in the UK for the entire duration of the programme
- 18 years of age or older before entry into the Amazon building
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grades 9‑4 / A‑C in Maths, English and a science/technology subject
- No existing qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level
- Eligible for funding (subject to review)
- 5 GCSEs at Grades 9‑4 / A‑C, including Maths, English and a science/technology subject
- Achievement or study towards a T‑Level in an engineering subject or A‑Levels with a bias towards science & technology
