Fawkes & Reece South are working with a growing contractor that works on civil engineering and groundworks projects on behalf of developers and private clients throughout Hampshire and Dorset. They are seeking a Buyer to work on projects are worth between £500k and £2m based on both JCT & NEC contracts. Scope of works includes infrastructure works, footpaths, retaining walls, bridges and drainage etc.

They are seeking a Buyer to join a busy team on various duties that will include:

You will be involved in (but not limited to):

• Responsible for material procurement for several on-going projects
• Obtaining and negotiating quotes /prices from various suppliers
• Working closely with the project team to ensure orders are placed in line with programme
• Attend internal co-ordination meetings for on-going projects
• Regular reporting of project costs against tender
• Sourcing of new suppliers and products
• Checking engineering drawings for discrepancies and compliance with the required material specification
• Control all purchasing administration and ensure all transactions are completed and recorded correctly
• Managing any potential supply problems and work to find solutions

Requirements including skills and qualifications:

Experience working in a purchasing or buying experience within civil engineering/ construction or an similar industry

Be a natural problem solver and be able to use initiative to find solutions

Candidates must be able to prove their eligibility to work in the UK
