Pre-Assessment Nurse Endoscopy UnitThe closing date is 07 January 2026
If you are looking for a new challenge come and join our growing team providing quality care for patients across the whole endoscopy pathway undertaking the pre-assessment for patients awaiting planned endoscopic procedures.
Endoscopy is a constantly evolving area delivering a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy. This is a varied role providing individual patient care for both out and in-patients. The successful applicant will ideally have a minimum of 12 months experience in an acute setting. Whilst previous endoscopy experience may be advantageous it is not essential as we provide training and competency assessment.
To provide specialist nursing expertise, facilitating evidence-based patient-centred care and assessment for a defined caseload of pre-assessment patients. This role requires someone who is organised with excellent communication skills and is confident with liaising with multi-disciplinary teams.
To co-ordinate patients throughout their pre-assessment pathway, with a high level of input into the management and care of patients prior to admission for specified procedures.
This role requires an active UK NMC Registration

Person Specification Qualifications- Nursing and midwifery PIN number
- 1st level Registered Nurse
- Teaching Qualification
- Physical Examination of the Adult qualification
- Post register course related to speciality
- sound knowledge and relevant experience in an acute hospital setting
- Venepuncture & Cannulation
- Basic IT skills
- Working knowledge of eCamis and EPR
- ECG Knowledge
- Working knowledge of Dorset Care Records / HICSS
- Evidence of good anatomy and physiology knowledge
- Basic Knowledge of Endoscopy procedures
- Evidence of professional development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills
- Highly motivated
- Decisive
- Recognises own limitations
- Flexible to the needs of the service
- Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative
- Ability to express self clearly and confidently both verbally and non-verbally
