We’re looking for a sales professional with a focus on phone‑based sales to join our team at LOCALiQ, part of Newsquest Media Group.

You’ll represent some of the region’s most trusted local news brands and offer innovative advertising solutions that help businesses grow and thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and win new business by proactively reaching out to potential clients across your region using cold calling and outbound sales techniques.
  • Work to clear financial targets and KPIs
    , consistently striving to exceed monthly revenue goals and performance benchmarks.
  • Manage and grow existing client accounts
    , providing ongoing support, identifying upsell opportunities, and increasing client spend through strategic recommendations.
  • Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline
    , using a consultative approach to move prospects through the sales cycle.
  • Build long‑term relationships with clients by providing expert advice, excellent service, and ongoing support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and campaign delivery for new clients.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and LOCALiQ’s evolving product suite to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Represent LOCALiQ with professionalism and credibility
    , acting as a trusted ambassador for our regional news brands.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Strong communication and influencing skills – Confident speaking with business owners and decision‑makers, building rapport quickly and guiding conversations toward meaningful outcomes.
  • Experience in outbound calling – Comfortable picking up the phone, initiating conversations, and creating opportunities through proactive outreach.
  • Confident in securing new business over the phone – Skilled in asking the right questions, handling objections, and closing deals with professionalism and energy.
  • Able to grow and nurture existing client accounts – Understanding the value of long‑term relationships and spotting opportunities to add value and increase client spend.
  • Delivers exceptional customer service – Committed to providing a seamless, supportive experience for every client, every time.
  • A consultative, client‑focused approach to selling – Listening, learning, and tailoring recommendations to meet each client’s unique goals.
  • Proven B2B sales experience (advantageous) – Previous experience selling to businesses is a plus, but we also welcome candidates with limited sales exposure who bring a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a genuine drive to succeed.
  • Understanding of multimedia advertising (advantageous) – Familiarity with digital and print advertising is a plus, but not essential – we’ll provide training.
  • Able to commute to the office daily – Resident within commuting distance of the office and ready to be part of a collaborative, on‑site team.
