Social Worker - Children in Care

Bournemouth Locum Up to £41.11 per hour Hybrid (3 Days Office-Based)

Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Children in Care Team. You ll support children and young people throughout their care journey, providing high-quality assessments, planning, and direct work that promotes safety, stability, and improved long-term outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in statutory children s services and a passion for making a meaningful difference to young lives.

This role requires a minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience within an English local authority (as per DfE requirements). The service offers a manageable caseload, regular monthly supervision, and the benefit of joining a high-morale team within a Good rated authority.

Important: This role requires office presence in the BCP area at least 3 days per week. Candidates must also be essential car users with access to their own vehicle.

• Social Work Qualification
• Minimum 3 years PQ experience in a statutory English local authority
• Strong assessment, planning, and communication skills
• Experience supporting children in care, including care planning and direct work
• Ability to manage risk and maintain high-quality records
• Essential car user access to your own vehicle
• Ability to work 3 days per week in the Bournemouth office
