Intern Molecular Biology – Bachelor/Master – Research & Development

We offer an internship opportunity within our Research & development (R&D) department where you will have the freedom and space for your own initiative.

Welcome to our team

The R&D department is an essential hub in our organization. This department is focused on developing vaccines. The team members have extensive knowledge and experience in different vaccine development fields like microbiology, vaccine formulation, immunology, vaccine analysis, cell biology and virology. The team works closely with other departments within the company to achieve the stated goals.

Your internship assignment

As an intern with the Ruminants R&D team, you will help develop innovative vaccine vectors to combat cattle diseases, focusing primarily on viral pathogens. You will participate in designing and evaluating viral vector platforms, optimizing antigen expression, and assessing immune responses in preclinical studies. Your work will include establishing immunological assays to better understand post‑vaccination immunity. This hands‑on role offers you the opportunity to collaborate with experienced scientists and contribute to research that advances animal health through improved vaccine efficacy.

The described tasks form the basic package and will often be performed independently after a proper training and learning period. These tasks may be supplemented with other projects and/or tasks on your own initiative or at the request of the organization.

What is required
  • A final year

    B.Sc or M.Sc student in the field of Life Sciences
  • Preferably, you are familiar with vaccines and viruses
  • You are fluent in English and/or Dutch, both written and verbal
  • You are available for a period of 6-9 months for 5 days a week
